A July Catch Up

I thought I would start off this blog with our recent trip to Victoria! Lots of people have been waiting to see some photos of the trip, so here we go!
We left home at 8pm on Friday the 29th June with our first stop being in Morayfield. Lacey didn't finish work until 9.30pm, so we stopped in at Woolworths and stocked up on some munchies for the trip before meeting up with her. We left Morayfield at about 9.45pm and our next stop was in Warwick where we topped up the fuel and bought some really healthy roadhouse food....not!
It was just after midnight when we left Warwick and our next stop was Boggabilla which is just over the NSW border. This stop was just for a stretch of the legs and a drink from the fridge in the trailer.
The next fuel stop was in Moree at about 3am and from there we pushed on to Narrabri for another fuel top up and toilet break.
By the time we made it to Coonabarabran, which is approximately the half way point, it was daylight. It was hard to believe that we still had a full days travel ahead of us before we even made it into Victoria!
Next fuel and toilet stop was in Gilgandra where John decided it was time to have a break from the driving so I took over. I have never driven a car towing a trailer so I was a bit nervous at first, but the Pajero didn't miss a beat, infact it was easy to forget that the trailer was there.

Sarah's going home! I drove through to Forbes, which is about another 215km from Gildgandra. It was about 10.30am by this time and as the kids where pretty hungry we decided to stop and have some McDonalds (another very helathy meal!). As we walked back to the car we noticed this sign and Sarah thought that she had come home!LOL (Sarah being a "bogan" is a bit of a family joke)

This was a fairly long and boring stretch with not a lot to see other than grass, sheep and sky. The kids dozed on and off through this little stretch until we had to stop at the "Fruit Bin". I had forgotten about the Fruit Fly Zone and we had some apples and mandarines that we could not take past this point. Morgan clicked off a few photos during this stretch of the trip and this one of John looking through the mirror is my favourite one.
Crossing the border into Victoria

It was about 4.30pm by this time and after stopping for fuel we continued a little further up the road and accross a bridge over the Murry River and into Vicotria.Standing beside the Murray River near Tocumwal
As we left Tocumwal we rang Tracey and arranged to meet her in Shepparton which was now only 25mins away! It was great to see her waiting for us and I decided to travel the rest of the way to Tatura with her and finally, after 23 hours of traveling,we made it!

Well I have run out of time so will continue with news on the rest of our trip tomorrow.
Until then, stay well.
